Option 1: a template app
Several video apps offer a hit the road dude template: upload a photo, apply the template and export. Results vary by app, and many leave you to add a voice-over or captions yourself.
Option 2: prompt a video model yourself
With a general image-to-video model you need a first frame of your character in the truck window and a prompt that describes the scene, the timing, the exact line and the voice. Expect several attempts: lip movement often drifts from the words, and the character can change between frames.
Option 3: one pet photo on Hit the Road Dude AI
This site does the first frame and the prompt for you.
- Upload one photo One dog or cat, face in focus, head and chest visible, no people.
- Confirm and generate Confirm the photo rules and start the video. It costs 40 credits.
- Download A few minutes later, save the 8-second vertical MP4 with sound, or find it later in your account.
Common problems and fixes
Most failures come from the photo, not the scene.
- The pet looks different: use a sharper photo with the face clearly visible.
- Markings are wrong: avoid filters and very dark photos.
- Two animals merge: upload a photo with one pet only.
- The photo is refused: crop out people and hands.
